This all-natural Healthy Citrus Dressing is tart, sweet, and bursting with all of the aromatic citrus notes. All you need is a bowl and a whisk—no fancy blender or equipment needed.
The seasonal change brought autumn-colored orange and amber leaves to the ground. Many lemons, mandarins, and grapefruit are in nearly every local market—which inspired me to make this fresh citrus dressing. Though this dressing is perfect for a salad during the hot summer months, there are other ways to enjoy it, like with grilled veggies, chicken, or fish.
Let’s talk about grapefruit. Well… I know it’s not everyone’s favorite fruit due to its bitter profile. However, sweet, sticky honey will help cut that bitterness. There is no need to hold back.
How to Make Healthy Citrus Dressing
As I mentioned before, you don’t need a fancy blender or food processor in order to make this zesty dressing. A simple manual lemon squeezer with do the trick. Better yet, squeeze with your hands!
- First squeeze out the juice from the lemon, grapefruit, and mandarins. Adding the zest of one lemon is optional.
- Then, add the honey, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix to combine.
- Next, while whisking the citrus juice, slowly drizzle in the olive oil. Whisk your heart out until fully homogenized. Stop once a pale yellow-ish color is the result.
Though you could enjoy this citrus dressing with a salad, there are endless ways to use it up. Here are a few ideas:
- Create an olive oil citrus cake.
- Marinate onions, veggies, or poultry.
- Drizzle over cucumbers.
- Serve alongside fish.

- 2 tbsp lemon juice about one lemon
- 2 tbsp mandarin oranges about 1-2 mandarins
- 2 tbsp honey may use pure maple syrup for vegan
- 100 ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp finley chopped parlsey
- salt and pepper to taste
