- 2 apples, diced into large cubes I used tart granny smith
- 5 cloves
- 3 cinnamon sticks my favorite is Mexican cinnamon
- honey as desired
In your favorite tea kettle or small saucepan, add 4 cups of filtred water, cubed apples, cinnamon, cloves, and desired amount of honey. Turn on the heat to medium-low and simmer for about 25 minutes.
When ready, pour directly into mug of choice. Garnish with a few thin-sliced apples on top or a cinnamon stick. Enjoy while hot.
There is no need to peel the apples.
Other all-natural sweetener options:
- Agave
- Coconut sugar
- Pure Maple syrup
The tea may add pieces of apple into the cup. If this sounds undesirable, feel free to strain before enjoying.
